ECU Virgin procedure (learning & reset)

It is ECU Virgin method resets a control unit to its unlearned factory or “virgin” state on the software side, so that it can be relearned like a factory-new control unit with the vehicle or a new key, which is necessary if a used control unit is to be reused or a clone prepared.

Suitable for workshops that want to install and re-learn a used control unit (e.g. from an accident vehicle or spare parts warehouse) on another vehicle.

What is included – what is not?

How does the order proceed?

  1. Reading out control unit and securing original file
  2. Submit file and control unit data
  3. Editing of the Virgin file by our team

Frequent questions about the Virgin procedure

What does "virgin" mean for a control unit?

A control unit in Virgin condition has not yet learned to use a vehicle or key on the software side – as it did before it was installed for the first time.

Why do I need a Virgin file for a used control unit?

An already installed control unit is bound to the original vehicle and its key, and can only be retrained in the Virgin state.

Do I need to do anything after flashing?

Yes, after programming the Virgin file, the actual learning process on the vehicle is done with a diagnostic tool – this is not part of the file itself.
